BLAST CAMPS ARE FOR EVERYONE!

It is the perfect opportunity to have an action packed week! Every year we welcome young people on camp from a variety of backgrounds. Whilst there is a faith element to every LYQ camp, we always welcome everyone to join in. Find out more about faith at LYQ camps.

Our BLAST camps are split into two different age groups – catering for children from grades 3 through to grade 11.

JUNIOR BLAST

Age group Grades 3- 6 in 2019

Junior Blast is back this year better than ever! Campers are invited to join us on the ultimate adventure, challenging themselves through high adventure activities and problem-solving games in teams. Whether it’s stepping outside your comfort zone, trying something new, making new friends, or spending time in the great outdoors, Junior Blast is the place where campers can learn something new about themselves and about God.

Activities include:

Body boarding or surfing
Blast Aqua Park
Flying fox and high adventure activities
Team challenges
Stacks of beach time!

Book your children in for an incredible week away and get them to start inviting friends to join in the fun with them! We’d love them to come and hang out with amazing Christian leaders, bring old friends and make new friends, all while discovering God together!

Junior Blast will run simultaneously with Blast, allowing parents with multiple children of different ages to send them all along together to the same fabulous campsite with similar epic activities! For campers who are keen for the best summer ever… also book in for a second week of fun the week prior at Junior Explode (and some who are super lucky also join in the fun in January at Kids Camp)!

10:30am arrival on Sunday and 1:30pm departure on Friday.

Pricing

$595 (incl. GST) per camper

$595 early bird price ends 4 November, $635 standard price applies from 5 November. Registrations close 25 November 2019.

Family discount: $50 discount per camper for two or more camper siblings living at the same address and booked in the same cart for the same season made possible by the very generous bequest from the late and legendary Mark Grieshaber.

Tuckshop

There is a tuckshop on camp where campers can purchase snack items as well as other items such as hackey sacks, wristbands and water bottles. Every camper is given a $5 credit to allow everyone to join in on the fun. There is an option during the booking process to add extra credit. Senior campers can add $5, $10 or $15 to their tuckshop credit and Juniors can add $5 or $10. Prices of the tuckshop items range from $0.50 to $7. The tuckshop credit is non-refundable, so if there is any credit left at the end of the week your child can either purchase additional items or donate it towards a LYQ Camp fund.

Lutheran Youth of Queensland is committed to introducing young lives to the Good News about Jesus and supporting them and their families to reach their God-given potential. From humble beginnings, and with God’s blessing, our ministry has grown so that today we are priveleged to influence thousands of young lives every year.

We’ve been running life-changing camps for over fifty years… and we still love it!

In an increasingly complex and demanding world there is still no better way than camping to give young people the space to discover more about themselves, their world and God. Something special happens when a young person is placed in an exciting new environment, amongst amazing leaders that offer great support, in a community that lives out God’s unconditional love – young people can’t help but grow, learn and change!

Lots of good clean fun… mostly clean!

The key to a great holiday camp is lots of fun and our dedicated team work hard to make the camp experience the highlight of every camper’s school holidays. LYQ camps are filled with a blend of fun age-appropriate activities that encourage participants to test their skills and grow their confidence.

The selected camp activities vary but can include treasure hunts, laser skirmish, surfing lessons, high ropes, flying fox, capture the flag, messy games, worship and bible studies.

A unique blend of body, mind and spirit – the LYQ difference

LYQ camps offer campers a unique blend of activities that not only focus on the physical but also stimulate the minds and spirit of campers.

All of our camps include a scheduled time when campers are encouraged to explore the Christian faith. Some of our camps, such as Christian Life Week camps and Kids Camp, have a strong Christian teaching component, whilst others like Explode and Blast summer camps include an introductory Christian component.

In our experience it is this unique blend of physical, mental and spiritual activities that help to make camp a transformational time instead of just a week away from home.

LYQ Leaders

We have an amazing bunch of leaders who volunteer their time to make sure that every camp is a bundle of fun and a great experience.
