Coolum Kids Camp - LYQ Summer Camps

Age group Grades 3 – 6 in 2019

Kids Camp is a five day adventure for children in Grades 3-6 (in 2019) either at our spectacular Luther Heights Youth Camp, Coolum Beach or our stunning Koojarewon Youth Camp Highfields.

During camp we will be learning about how God does EXTRAORDINARY things through ordinary people. We’ll be reading some stories in the Bible where God used his people to do amazing things, and explore how God still uses his people (you and me) today to do extraordinary things in this world!

The Kids Camp program is a beautiful mix of learning about God, spending time outdoors and enjoying games with friends… lots of good clean fun and laughter!

Every morning we’ll spend time in worship and learning about God and then in the afternoons we’ll either head down to the beautiful Coolum Beach for a swim and a play on the sand, or we’ll take advantage of the wide open spaces at camp to play some epic games!

One of the highlights of Kids Camp is the food. Our team put on some spectacular camp food – its healthy, yummy and there is heaps of it! They’re also experts on special diet needs so everyone is looked after.

Past campers will be excited to know that there’ll be lots of familiar faces back to lead on Kids Camp 2020. We’ve been blessed to pull together an experienced leadership team to spend the week serving on camp.

Summer Kids Camp is not only a great start to the year… its also a great ‘first’ camp for young campers! Our team take special care at the start of camp to help campers make new friends and feel comfortable on camp. We deliberately follow a regular timetable/routine on camp so that campers can feel comfortable in the new environment and we make sure we’ve got at least 1 leader for every 4 campers so that every camper gets looked after!

If January isn’t the best time of year for a camp, don’t miss out! We also run Winter Kids Camp in the July school holidays!

Pricing

$345 early bird (incl. GST) per camper

Early bird pricing ends 2 December 2019 and price will inrease to $375. Registrations close 16 December.

Family discount: $50 discount per camper for two or more camper siblings living at the same address and booked in the same cart for the same season made possible by the very generous bequest from the late and legendary Mark Grieshaber.

Lutheran Youth of Queensland is committed to introducing young lives to the Good News about Jesus and supporting them and their families to reach their God-given potential. From humble beginnings, and with God’s blessing, our ministry has grown so that today we are priveleged to influence thousands of young lives every year.

We’ve been running life-changing camps for over fifty years… and we still love it!

In an increasingly complex and demanding world there is still no better way than camping to give young people the space to discover more about themselves, their world and God. Something special happens when a young person is placed in an exciting new environment, amongst amazing leaders that offer great support, in a community that lives out God’s unconditional love – young people can’t help but grow, learn and change!

Lots of good clean fun… mostly clean!

The key to a great holiday camp is lots of fun and our dedicated team work hard to make the camp experience the highlight of every camper’s school holidays. LYQ camps are filled with a blend of fun age-appropriate activities that encourage participants to test their skills and grow their confidence.

The selected camp activities vary but can include treasure hunts, laser skirmish, surfing lessons, high ropes, flying fox, capture the flag, messy games, worship and bible studies.

A unique blend of body, mind and spirit – the LYQ difference

LYQ camps offer campers a unique blend of activities that not only focus on the physical but also stimulate the minds and spirit of campers.

All of our camps include a scheduled time when campers are encouraged to explore the Christian faith. Some of our camps, such as Christian Life Week camps and Kids Camp, have a strong Christian teaching component, whilst others like Explode and Blast summer camps include an introductory Christian component.

In our experience it is this unique blend of physical, mental and spiritual activities that help to make camp a transformational time instead of just a week away from home.

LYQ Leaders

We have an amazing bunch of leaders who volunteer their time to make sure that every camp is a bundle of fun and a great experience.
